'ANCHOR':COPPERHEAD JONES

A unique, smooth sounding Texas country singer-songwriter, Copperhead Jones first started writing songs in 2012 while deployed with the United States Navy. Living in various places throughout his adult life has given him the ability to write songs that cover not only the true feel of the country way of life but also the shine of the city lights atmosphere. Well rounded, deep thinking and heartfelt lyrics, along with his own unique sound, not only crafted the foundation for the album but also bridges the gap between any state line boundaries of music.

Hi Copperhead Jones! Thank you for taking this interview with us! Congratulations on your music! How exciting! How long have you been making music?

I have been writing music since I deployed in the US Navy back in 2012 but I've been singing since I could talk.

Why did you choose the title for the new music?

The title of my song "Anchor" derives from my Navy roots and serves as a metaphorical weight depression can have on someone.

Can you tell our audience what the song is about?

The song is about my personal struggle fighting the seas of depression but learning how to deal with and eventually overcoming that struggle.

Why did you choose to release the music now?

I chose to release the music now because I'm at a point in my life where I am going to pursue music, time is not on my side.

Can you tell us the journey about making the music?

It has been an incredible and surprising journey making music. I have only written 5 or 6 songs from 2012 to about 2018 until I met my friend C.W. Duncan. We both learned about each other's talents and quickly began to write music together. From that point we have written a lot of songs and continue to do so and we are learning everyday how to better perfect the craft that is songwriting.

What kind of journey was it for you to be ready to release the music?

The funny thing is I never intended to release music or cut an album. I didn't even expect to perform live outside of my backyard campfire circle. Father's day 2020 my wife got me 4 hours of studio time at Fort Worth Sound. After that first session I was hooked and decided I wanted to pull in session musicians and cut an album. I began to do so a year later and released my first single "No One Givin' Up" December 2021.

Where can new fans stream it?

Anyone wanting to stream or download my music can do so everywhere you can stream music from Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon, YouTube, Tidal, Pandora, Etc..

How do they follow you?

They can follow me on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok under Copperhead Jones and I also have a website. www.copperheadjones.com

What's next for you!

The next step for me is just trying to market myself and music to get people to at least hear some of my music. At the same time I will also be writing a ton in preparation for tracking my second album.
