
With a blend of modern music and the sound of soulful, old-school music by which he is heavily influenced by, Tulsa-based singer/songwriter, Calvin Loron is ready to join the list of countless great acts that have come before him.
After receiving positive feedback from public radio in the UK market on his original songs "Old Fashioned Love" and "Right Now," Calvin knew music was something he wanted to do long-term. He has performed at music festivals and on live television segments such as Creekchella Music Festival, Channel 8's "Good Day Tulsa," and Rogers State University's "Studio 66." Calvin plans to continue to make and perform music that speaks to people from all areas of life.

Thank you for having me! The first thing that comes to mind that I’m grateful for about my music career is the community. This community includes fans, musicians, music promoters, and all those involved. The music community has helped me become a better artist and I wouldn’t be able to do it alone. What kind of inspiration influences your music that fans would be surprised by?
The inspiration that influences my music that would surprise fans are books. Whether they’re autobiographical or fictional, the stories/events spark the imagination which can be put into song. Who has influenced you in your career? In my music career, I’ve been influenced by many people. I’ve been influenced by legendary artists and I’ve also been influenced by people in my life that have shown perseverance.
Who is your biggest cheerleader in the industry?
My biggest cheerleaders in the industry are other musicians and music coaches. When you find your music family it’s all love and support. We push each other to get better and want to see each other succeed. Who gives you the most critique?
My closest family, friends, and colleagues give me the most critique. I can trust them to be honest with me about my music. If it’s not quite to their liking they’ll tell me. I appreciate that. Do you often follow your heart or your brain when you have to make decisions in your career?
I follow my heart and brain when I have to make decisions in my career. I think there has to be a balance to get the best results. It’s important to make decisions that’ll make you happy, but you also have to be smart to avoid making mistakes. Making decisions on how to go about your next project, what do those conversations sound like?
When making decisions on how to go about releasing a new project the conversation is exciting and laid back. I usually look for the best strategies and inspiration to write new songs. I also take advice on how to market my music for the best results. Give us a fun fact about your latest music!
A fun fact about my newest singles Mystery Girl and Write a Love Song is that they were both created within a few hours. I took my lyrics and melody ideas to FYU-CHUR recording studio and the final product was finished the same day. Best advice you've received on making new music?
The best advice I’ve received on making new music is to let creativity come to you. Don’t try to force it. As creatives that “spark” will arise. Give us some advice when it comes to pushing forward in your career?
Some advice I’d give when it comes to pushing forward in your music career is consistency and believing in yourself. You can’t take your foot off the gas and you have to be your number one supporter. Sometimes things will get rough but you can persevere as long as you keep your eye on the prize.
