Sure, it's called Wasted Time and it just came out on November 4th, 2020. It's sort of about 2 things: The first is that it pokes fun at songwriting, creating music and producing your own work, because it often feels like you put so much time and energy into it and then struggle immensely with getting it heard by others, which is the whole intent of it to begin with. On the other hand, it's about relationships with people, putting so much time and energy into formulating them only to be dropped like a hat when you/they no longer serve you in some way.
Why did you pick that name for the single?
It's a lyric in the song and generally summarizes what it's all about.
Does it ever get stressful when you have to come up with a title?
Literally never. It's the easiest part of the entire process, unless you're Fall Out Boy (I assume) who overcomplicates literally every part about creating music.
What was challenging about the single?
It took a while to put together mostly because as I added new instrumentation it changed the entire vibe of the track. It was originally much more straight-played, but once I laid the bass line into it, the entire dynamics of it changed a lot. It went through several iterations before becoming what it is today.
What kind of journey do you want to take your fans on when they listen to the song?
A mystic one.
What can you not wait for about your upcoming music?
I'm already writing new material (sort of never stop that part) and so I'm gearing up to start tracking and putting all the pieces and parts into place, which means there should be a new EP or full-length album soon, so I'm excited to share that news whenever I decide it makes sense to.
Favorite reaction so far to the single from those who have heard it?
The best review I got so far from it was, plainly, "heard the new track. Got the drums in there, the lyrics...all the instruments..." They trailed off there but I think that about sums it all up.
