We would also like to clone ourselves! Think about how much more work we could allnget done, even if there were just two of each of us!!
We really appreciate you taking time out of your schedule to be part of our interview process today. How are things and what have you been up to with your music lately?
Thank you for inviting me for an interview! Things are definitely different this year... more different than they ever have been in my music career. I finally released my debut album, and I wish I could be touring it right now!!! But instead, I am focusing on connecting with my online fanbase, and refining my brand/social media presence. Please tell us about your latest release!
My latest release "Self Reflections" is my debut, full-length album! I am so excited to have finally released it. It is a very introspective and reflective piece, I write a lot about my experiences. The album was supported by a Creative BC Career Development grant, I retreated to an off-grid studio in the Canadian Mountains called "Sincerity Sound" my band and I stayed on the land of the studio for a month and recorded, explored, lived off the land and created. The album is a direct reflection of my connection to nature and the world around me. Do you write primarily about personal experiences or?
I guess I slightly answered this one above! My music is largely based on my experiences. In my song "Mountain Air" I write directly about my experiences living in Europe and coming home to the mountains. I connect deeply with life... and my way to process is by writing about it!
If you could have any superpower what would it be and why?
Hm... definitely to clone myself. I would love to have an extra me as an assistant lol!!! I am so busy and I also work full time at a publications firm, so I would love to have more me's to work on things hehe. Who has been your greatest motivator as an artist?
Maggie Rogers! She is a huge inspiration of mine. Started out very humble, and is still very much that way. She released her debut album but has now gone back into the archives of her music to form an archival release because she doesn't want her fans to miss anything about her journey or process. That is insanely admirable. What are you listening to right now and do you remember the first work of music you ever purchased?
I've been listening to Christmas music lately, I'll be honest, lol! However, I am also listening to a lot of electronic music too, my favourite artist to dance to right now is "Elenne"
The first CD that I ever bought was Avril Lavigne's debut album "Losing Grip" still a hugely inspirational album for me today. Please give us 5 words to describe your music to someone out there who needs to discover and download your music TODAY!
Honest, Unique, Hopeful, Comforting, Beautiful How can we stay up to date with your latest happenings?
