THE POP AND ROCK OF ASHLEIGH REY

Ashleigh Rey tells us the unique way she describes her music!

What music do you have in the works right now?

Oh so much. I am currently working through making my first full length album. The first singles off the album will be coming out soon! How can we stream it? Once it's out it will be available on all platforms, however, spotify is the most helpful. Until the full album, you can listen to my single "Synthetic Serotonin" on repeat if you feel so inclined. How would you describe your music?

I refer to my music as cowgirl pop, mainly because I grew up in Texas and I think my natural voice will always have a bit of twang, but I gravitate towards writing pop and rock music. What does a day look like for you?

BUSY. I usually wake up at 5:30 or 6:00 am and I'll go for a run and hit the gym. Once I get home I usually spend an hour journaling or practicing guitar. Then I'll log on to my top secret corporate america job that pays my bills. During the day I'll take music related calls and answer emails. After I finish my work for the day I'll log off and start prepping for dinner. I love to cook and some of my favorite types of foods are any and all types of pasta and tacos. I usually spend my time after dinner either practicing for shows on the weekend, writing music or enjoying a true crime documentary. Do you ever feel guilty for taking a day off?

Yes. Every day of my life. I am a workaholic to the fullest extent. I'm working on allowing myself time-off but wow is it hard... Anything unreleased that you want to release but don't feel it's ready?

Every song??? I'm kidding, but I feel like that's the challenge when making music. I am a perfectionist, so I truly always feel like there is more to do or improve, but I usually reach a point where I can't sit on a song any longer and feel that it's better to release it than to continue to let it marinate! Where can our audience follow you? I am most active on instagram (@ashleighreyofficial) but you can also follow me on Spotify (Ashleigh Rey).
